The show we watched today, Jack Neo's 2003 movie, Home Run, is actually a re-make of a 1997 Iranian (meaning it was made in Iran, which is a country in the Middle East)show called Children of Heaven. This means that Children of Heaven was the original show, and that Home Run has the same storyline as it, only that it is set in a different country. While Children of Heaven was set in Iran (the children's names were Ali and Zahara), Home Run is set in Singapore.

Anyway, the show we watched today, Home Run , is set in Singapore in 1965, the year Singapore separated from Malaysia (which is something you'll learn more about in Social Studies in P5 and P6). As you can tell from the family's furniture, clothes and house, Kiat Kun and Seow Fang (the brother and sister), are very poor. They're so poor that when Kiat Kun accidently loses his sister's shoes, they need to share his!
Although I've only watched half of the show, I really like the friendships that I've seen in the show. The way that Kiat Kun's friends help him, even when it comes to sweeping leaves and polishing trophies, shows their sincerity. They're willing to come early to help him even though he did not ask them to!

this show is very tonching and teach us not to waste things.
Thats a very interesting and a pity story.The story teaches us that determination is a gateway for success.
The show was super touching , i hope there are more stories about homerun. The story was about the brother who lost his sister's shoe... and they got to share the shoe everyday...
The show is very intersting and the children is very poor family and they do not have a proper shoes to wear.
Even though they are poor,but their achievement was to buy a slipper.

Hello.The show was nice.And we think the people living there were very,very poor.They had to share shoes when the sister lost a pair of shoes!But i still think XIAO HAI BU BEN is much nicer(:

I'm glad you enjoyed the show, when we finish watching I Not Stupid next week, let's see if we can compare and contrast both shows.
it was wonderful and we hope that we can watch it again ms wong please play it againand also other movie and i also have alot of that movie too.
